To the surprise of many, vintage fashion has taken the modern fashion industry by storm and everyone ranging from the youth to the aging population is going for vintage fashion. Vintage fashion can be defined as the clothing which was produced between the 1920s and 1960s. This assignment will seek to explore some of the new concepts and aspects of the vintage fashion in the modern fashion industry.
Destroyed Denim is one of the vintage fashions that are back in the modern fashion industry with full force. Destroyed Denim is one of the oldest fashions in the market industry for both the males and the females (Veenstra, 2013). It is easy to spot this fashion from a far considering that it is unique and in most cases the pair of trouser in this jeans material is usually ripped off from its sides or both the back and the front. The fashion was very popular among the youths in the mid-90s especially after the production of the Nirvana music video where the artists were dressed in Destroyed Denim.
However, it is not easy to tell if the old fashion and clothes are back but it is easy to spot that the fashion is still trending in the current fashion market. It is worth mentioning that there are several new versions of Destroyed Denim, but one of the stand-out representations of this vintage fashion is The Mother Mended the Dropout Fray. This pair of jeans is light on stretch and heavy on distressing and makes an individual feel like she is still in the 1990s (Veenstra, 2013). Besides, it has bleach stains and ripped knees standout in any outfit but can be toned down with a white button down.
