Different religions use alcohol and psychoactive drugs as part of their religious traditions. In your opinion, do you feel other religions are using these drugs because they know it is illegal in other countries and want to be different, or do you feel these certain religious groups do experience a spiritual divine experience while using these drugs, and the drugs do in fact heal the individual? According to Miller, (1998), “Religion, in contrast, is defined by its boundaries—by particular beliefs, practices, forms of governance and rituals (Miller, 1998). I would say these drugs are not healthy, and comes with consequences. Everyone faith is different, and everyone may see their spirituality different from how others may see it from their own perspective. According to Miller, (1998), “A scientific definition of spirituality must be one that does not rely upon particular religious contexts, that is accessible and observable regardless of one’s personal beliefs, and that can thereby be used to characterize all people (Miller, 1998). One must be very careful when using these drugs, these drugs can be dangerous to one’s health. It is very easy to become addicted to these psychoactive drugs, and the individual will become dependent on using the drug. What is your take?
