Leaders employ and utilize different powers to govern and lead their organizations towards the goals and objectives of the organization. Here at Arthur brothers limited, the chief executive officer exercises both autocratic and democratic powers depending on the events and circumstances at hand. He usually becomes autocratic, and issues demand whenever there are threats, and people need to get back into line (Brown, 2016). However, on normal days, he is democratic and listens to all employees to get their opinions.

Follow motivation

Members of the workforce in the company are always ready to follow the steps of their leaders. As a result, the leaders have to be motivated to motivate their followers to perform their duties on time and effectively.

Aspects of effective fellowship

The primary types of effective leaders include pioneers, drivers, guardians, and integrators.  Pioneers focus on generating ideas; drivers focus on driving or developing the already generated ideas, guardians have a duty to offer stability and credibility while integrators have to bring unity in the team. A good and successful leader should possess two or more qualities.

Provide an overview of influence and the major process and content motivational theories.

Basically, there are three primary techniques that can be utilized to influence other people and they include nagging, coercion and generating a better idea than the present (Urick, 2014). However, it is worth noting that not all the times that nagging works considering that it is bothersome. On the other hand, coercion focuses on the use of power to persuade people to do what the leader wants.  Finally, generation of a better idea focuses on showing the followers to perform their tasks by persuading them. The CEO of Arthur widely utilizes coercion and nagging to get things done in the company.

Motivational theories

Motivation is very important for any company, and the widely used motivations include the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation puts emphasis on self-motivation as it creates the desire to succeed in whatever a person does. On the other hand, extrinsic motivation is usually influenced by the outcome of the event or situation (Urick, 2014). If the outcome is positive, individuals are likely to be motivated, but if the outcome is negative, individuals are demoralized to perform the task at hands. Just like other organization, employees at the company have extrinsic motivation.

Describe which motivational theory would be the most appropriate for your industry/organization.

Goal setting theory feels best suited for the company considering that it encourages individuals and organizations to design goals and objectives they desire to achieve.  Setting goals and objectives can motivate individuals to work harder and smarter. However, the management should ensure that it designs achievable goals, particularly short term goals to encourage their employees to work hard.

Leaders can have different powers in their reigns to influence their workers. At the company, the management widely uses reward power and expert power. Reward power is widely used as a source of motivation where employees who perform exemplary are rewarded. On the other side, individuals who have special skills and knowledge stand a better chance to be promoted and get a better offer (Brown, 2016).

Are there any power types that should be avoided when employing that motivational theory?

Coercion power should be avoided when employing motivational theory mainly because individuals are not good at taking demands and commands, but they prefer request.
