Structural equation modeling analysis

The advancement in the process of conducting analysis in the causes of crimes has contributed to the witnessed success in curbing crime today. Structural equation modeling analysis has been so much involved in the recently and depicts strengths such as the capability to accomplish examination of complex associations as well as the use of varying types of data i.e. dimensional. However, the analysis does not ultimately provide exhaustive information and often leave the investigators in a complicated position with several unanswered questions. The first gap is the lack of representativeness of the samples, and secondly the timing of the variables.

The quality of every research carried out to determine the actual effect or give the real causes of a crime is highly dependent on the representativeness of the samples (Barett, Katsiyannis, & Zhang, 2014). More often in recent researches that have been carried the samples used are drawn from the data collected by the different institutions responsible. These data do not give a sufficiently representative information because it is tricky to determine very crucial factors that influenced each case. It is always common that the data collected is meant for the given area that the institution is located and hence not practical when used to represent a vast region.

The timing of the variables is imperative in determining exactly how the given variable made an impact on the outcome at each given point (Barett, Katsiyannis, & Zhang, 2014). Some variables can shape the outcome of the research at a given instance of the research while when applied later on may be ineffective. In most situations the influence of timing is neglected while handling variables, which gives a deceptive outcome.

It is important therefore to study these factors that have a significant bearing on the results of the results of a structural equation modeling analysis. Determining how representative the samples used are, which will influence the conclusion drawn from the study. Similarly, the timing of various variables has an impact on the analysis and therefore further research is needed on its influence. These two factors are notably significant and hence, further research are required.
